    Daisy Mountain Day Hike

A great 5 mile round trip hike from the West Side of Daisy Mountain.  Bring plenty of water and energy snacks.  Take Gavilan Peak to Navigation and go north till it ends on Livingstone Way.  This is where you park and there is a playground for smaller kids to play on if some parents have to turn around.  Plan on 5 hours minimum.  Kids move slow and it's all uphill to the top.  And you will want to get to the top.  Don't let the easy hiking from the parked cars to the base of the mountain fool you.  Bring a camera.  I attached a link from someone who took this hike in 2005.  Bring a thick comb or a handyman tool to pull out cactus and jumping cholla.  Wild life you may see include: Bobcats, rattle snakes, hawks, squirrels, rats, lizards, horny toads, deer, skunks, rabbits, scorpions.  Great little outing to bring a track guide, mineral guide list, and a compass.
